Maison M is all about the experience of and in PLACE.

I Believe Home Should Nurture & Empower Your Lifestyle

be sheltering when it’s all too much, inviting when shared, a place of relaxation & renewal -

maybe even feed your soul a little bit, right?

L e m m e g u e s s …

You’ve got some BIG changes going on.

You’re moving, renovating, adding or losing household members, retiring, changing jobs, starting your own business, …

And that can feel like being in the midst of a storm.

Maybe there’s even a little bit of “there’s got to be more to life than this” or “life is not a dress rehearsal” going through your mind - maybe some “how did I get here?” refrains playing on repeat too, right?

Hiding

under the chaotic feelings

are possibilities,

waiting to be discovered.

You can have so much more than “just getting through this”.

I’m here to help you shift your perspective, find what really matters and make it all easier for you.

speaking of experiences, here are a few of mine

Nº 01

working with hundreds of retailers, creating inviting, profitable spaces while organizing them & telling the story of large fashion and home brands as well as those of small business owners.

Nº 02

owning a bespoke English cabinetry and luxury appliance showroom, turning desires into functional beauty - using space planning and booby trap (oops!) side-stepping along the way

Nº 03

designing one of kind, handmade light fixtures, furniture & accessories for home owners and interior designers

CULTURE QUENCHING

I lived a nomadic lifestyle (i.e. many homes) for years, bouncing around this country and Europe, reveling in every little bit of experience I could squeeze out of those places …

and honing my skills at making any place a home.

I am definitely in the camp that believes our environment shapes who we are and our lives. But that doesn’t mean you have to go far to get where you want to be!

SO HOW DID I GET HERE?

Does a dining room table stacked with papers and files constitute a crisis?

It did in my life. That table represented stress, expectations, frustration … the same things that were blocking me from living my best life … and I didn’t know what to do about it.

It was all pretty embarrassing.

I worked in the design world, after all! I’d done this for others but was way too close to my own stuff.

My social life, among other things, was suffering because I didn’t want my friends to see what felt like my personal failure.

Add in my mother’s condo selling, leaving two weeks for me and my sister to clear it out. None of us live in the same state; I had downsized the year before. What to do with it all?!

With all of the crazy life stressors piling up, I needed help - tout suite!

Next thing I knew, I had stumbled onto Marie Kondo’s magical KonMari™ process that would singularly and truly alter my home (& the entire trajectory of my life) in a POSTITIVE, JOYFUL way.

Reading her books wasn’t enough to get me through it though, even with my background. I went on to study with her and her team because I knew I needed more guidance and encouragement when I got stuck on my own journey.

I ended up with a home fit to entertain and relax in, a closet filled only with clothes I love to wear & surrounding myself with what brings me joy.

Oh, and that little piece I’ve mentioned about uncovering one’s ideal lifestyle … that’s why I created Maison M!

That’s my story.

Now it’s YOUR turn …

(I really want to hear yours)

I got you!

Coming soon … Nº 2 - all about transforming a second home to preserve legacy

(and help it pay for itself)

View from my summer desk …

I recently arrived in NH to find my family’s 200 year old home, which has been in the family for six generations, had been broken into and completely ransacked.

So what does an organizing designer do to make that lemon into lemonade?

I channeled my inner nomad, rolled up my sleeves and dived into yet another personal opportunity for decluttering, organizing and transforming.

Again ( & not to be too corny), looking for the joy in this seemingly negative situation led me to the idea of sprucing up the neglected, slightly dilapidated but utterly charming, old Cape Cod style house for short-term rental when the family isn’t gathered here.

Stay tuned!
